buy lamprene An annual 12-week break in the Columbia contract gave Calvert opportunity to continue his travelling stage show. Initially contained in the back of his car, the accumulating weight of props forced him to adopt a trailer, then a truck, and then a Douglas DC-3 airliner named The Mystic Lady. Though he was an accomplished flier who had seen action with the RAF Ferry Command during the war, Calvert had the narrowest escape of his career on the aircraft. Attempting an emergency landing at Nashville in heavy fog in January 1947, the plane slid through an icy field and its wing smashed into the side of a house. Miraculously no one was seriously injured. The following evening Calvert was back on stage, on crutches.
